Their role is crucial in aligning the needs of businesses with the skills and talents of the community, ultimately contributing to the overall economic health and prosperity of the region.

  • New Teacher's Breakfast

Teachers are on the front line of the education process, and truly hold the Monett area's future in their hands. For this reason (and many others) we host an annual breakfast to welcome new teachers to the Monett School District. The breakfast is held each year in early August. New teachers receive bags of sponsor items and learn a little about their new town. Show your support for the new teachers!

Sponsorship forms will be available closer to event date.

Leadership Development Programming

The MACC facilitates mentorship and coaching programs that connect emerging leaders with experienced mentors from the business community. These relationships can provide guidance and support in personal and professional development. Every fall, our Monett Chamber Foundation hosts "Leadership Monett," a semester-long leadership development program that connects aspiring leaders to key resources in the community, allowing them to build capacity for collaboration with all stakeholders, as well as build skills for effective decision-making.

Talent Attraction

Chambers can work to attract talent to the region by promoting the benefits of living and working in the area. This can help address workforce shortages in specific industries. The Monett Area Chamber has launched a "Talent Attraction" taskforce, specifically designed to attract high quality talent to the Monett region.

Local Businesses

We often act as intermediaries between local businesses and job seekers. They can facilitate partnerships between companies and local educational institutions or job training programs to ensure that the workforce is equipped with the skills needed by employers.

Economic Initiatives

Chambers may support programs that aim to empower disadvantaged or underrepresented groups in the workforce, promoting inclusivity and diversity. This work includes our partnership with Drury C.A.M.P, which helps support migrant students in their academic success.

Business Advocacy and Economic Development:

Chambers often advocate for policies that promote economic growth and job creation. When businesses thrive, they are more likely to invest in workforce development and job opportunities for the community.

Research and Data Analysis:

Our chamber regularly gathers data related to local labor market trends and skill gaps. This information can be used to guide workforce development efforts and tailor training programs to meet the specific needs of the community.

Advocacy for Education and Training Programs:

Our chamber of commerce can advocate for the development and funding of education and training programs that align with the needs of local businesses. This includes vocational training, apprenticeships, and continuing education initiatives.

Apprenticeship and Internship Programs:

Chambers can encourage and support the establishment of apprenticeship and internship programs in collaboration with local businesses. These programs provide valuable on-the-job training and work experience to individuals entering the workforce.
